Curvilinear Acceleration Drill




A competitive, acceleration drill with Sligo Rugby Club seniors. Acceleration, deceleration and curvilinear running. Requires the athletes to predict, manipulate and react to their opponents movements at high velocity. A large proportion of high-speed running in a rugby game is influenced by an external stimulus (direct opponent, defensive line, ball kicked in behind the defence) so open, reaction, speed drills can have good transfer to on-field performance.
